Skelanimals are an unusual yet creative combination of dissimilar tastes — somewhat akin to the odd combination of flavors you would find in Chinese Hot and Sour soup.
Artist and designer Mitchell Bernal has combined the cold and scary anatomical bareness of a skeleton with warm and sweet cuddle-like animals to come up with the concatenated form of Skelanimals.
Appearing primarily as black silhouettes with see-through bodies that reveal a stark white skeleton, the smallish and seemingly friendly animals each favor their own scary movie yet exhibit all the personality traits of regular pets — some love being chased, some just want to play, and others like to sing. Of course, in case it isn’t obvious these Skelanimals are not among the living.
They truly “live” up to their tagline: “Dead animals need love too.”
